Minutes of Regular Commissioner’s Meeting – April 17, 2018

Commissioner Hill established that a quorum was present and called the meeting to order at 16:00. The meeting was held at Station 1, located at 26109 Ridge Avenue, Ocean Park, WA 98640.  Attendance at the meeting included:

Excuse Commissioner Downer from Meeting

 

Commissioner Long made a motion to excuse Commissioner Downer from the April 17th meeting, seconded by Commissioner Hill. Motion carried

 

Commissioner Hill called for a one minute Executive Session at 16:01 for Pension and Relief Board meeting. Regular session resumed at 16:02.

 

Consent Agenda

  1. Minutes of Regular Commissioners Meeting held on March 20th, 2018
  2. March 28th, 2018 4th Week Expenses for a total of $34,042.11
  3. April 17th, 2018 Accounts Payable expenses for a total of $226,665.40, not including Jack’s Country Store
    1. Accounts Payable: $27,586.60
    2. Payroll: $199,078.80

 

Commissioner Long made a motion to approve the consent agenda as presented, seconded by Commissioner Hill. Motion carried.

 

Jack’s Country Store

  1. April 17th, 2018 expenses for a total of $205.14

 

Commissioner Hill made a motion to approve the expenses for Jack’s Country Store, seconded by Commissioner Long. Motion carried.

  1. Resolution 2018-05 – Surplus Property

 

Commissioner Long made a motion to approve Resolution 2018-05 – Surplus Property, seconded by Commissioner Hill. Motion carried.

 

  1. WA State Auditor’s Office Annual Report

 

Commissioner Hill made a motion to approve the WA State Auditor’s Office Annual Report, seconded by Commissioner Long. Motion carried.

 

  1. Fairway Collections Client Service Agreement

 

Commissioner Long informed that all agreements should have a place for the date to distinguish the most recent approved copy.

Commissioner Hill stated that he will sign the agreement and add the date next to his signature.

 

Commissioner Long made a motion to approve the Fairway Collections Client Service Agreement, seconded by Commissioner Hill. Motion carried.

 

District Chief’s Report: (Report Attached)

  1. AC Karvia Report – AC Karvia reported that the members of the PCFD#1 Fire Academy spent 2 days in North Bend at the State Training Academy. Captain DeConto was the lead instructor for our academy. Karvia informed that there will be an acquired structure live fire burn this Sunday in Seaview. The state loaned our academy a forcible entry prop that AC Karvia has been traveling with to local departments for training. Captain’s Testing is coming up this next Saturday. Commissioner Long will be on the panel. There are 3 career and 2 volunteer candidates.
  2. AC Weatherby’s Report – AC Weatherby reported that Dr. Roof is waiting on a good weather window to begin on the Station 21-2 roof. We have the final meeting with PCG about the GEMT Cost Report. They are saying our cost per transport is $1,756 and $1,310 will be claimed as reimbursable in this program. We may net $40,000. AC Weatherby and Lani have both been teaching for the local CERT class.

Good of the Order: Chief Brundage informed that we have had a lot of calls including fire calls. Everyone has been busy with training.
