PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 29, 2026
Temporary outdoor burning restrictions for unincorporated areas of Pacific
County will be lifted Thursday, October 1st, 2026 at 12:01 a.m.
Residents are reminded that lifting the seasonal burning restrictions does not eliminate normal
outdoor burning requirements. All outdoor fires must be attended until completely
extinguished, and an adequate means of extinguishing the fire must be readily available.
Burning should not be conducted during high winds or other conditions that could cause a fire
to escape.
Only natural vegetation and other materials permitted by applicable outdoor burning
regulation may be burned. Garbage, construction debris, plastics, and other prohibited
materials may not be burned.
The lifting of Pacific County’s temporary burning restrictions applies to unincorporated areas
under Pacific County jurisdiction. Other jurisdictions or land management agencies may
establish separate burning restrictions for lands under their authority.
For any questions regarding outdoor burning requirements in unincorporated Pacific County,
please contact your local fire department or Pacific County Community Development.
