Pacific County is the 2nd poorest county in the State of Washington. The average household income for a family in our county is $38,387 with a per capita income of $22,187. This places approximately 17% of our county’s population below the poverty line. This year due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we expect the need to be much greater.

Toys for Peninsula kids allows loved ones who are in need of assistance to choose toys they find most fitting for their children/grandchildren/nieces/nephews for Christmas. These individuals are welcomed to “shop” at Pacific County Fire District #1 on December 19, at no cost. This concept allows the relatives to not only participate in the gift-giving process but also allows for them to take ownership of their child’s Christmas experience.

This year’s event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 19th, 2020. This will be our 4th annual Toys for Peninsula Kids event. The loved ones of 509 children were supplied with Christmas presents at the 2019 event. At least two gifts per child were handed out.

We are requesting donations for Toys for Peninsula Kids. We are currently in need of either toys for ages 0 to 15 or monetary donations. All monies that are donated will be used to purchase toys for our local kids.

Checks can be mailed to PO Box 890, Ocean Park, WA 98640. You may call Fire District #1 at (360) 665-4451 to schedule a pick-up of toys or you may drop them off at our Administrative Office at 26110 Ridge Ave, Ocean Park, WA 98640.

In addition to donations, we are in need of agencies and individuals who would like to help with this year’s event. We are in need of volunteers to help sort gifts, set up, and assist on day of the event.

We hope you will find it in your heart to help make this program a success for the children of the Long Beach Peninsula.
