Pacific County Fire District #1 is asking voters to increase the current levy rate from $0.85 per $1,000 assessed property value to $1.15 per $1,000 assessed property value.
If approved, the increased cost to a property owner is approximately $10 more per month on a property assessed at $400,000.
New funds will be used to increase daily staffing, including staffing the Surfside fire station.
The proposed lid-lift measure will be on the August 6, 2024 ballot
Pacific County Fire District 1 is now accepting applications for Firefighter/Paramedics on a continuous basis. Applications will be continuously reviewed, and candidates who meet minimum qualifications may be scheduled for the testing process. The link to the application is available below.
On February 11th, 2020, Fire District #1 will be asking for a vote of our citizens to renew our 6-year Emergency Medical Services (EMS) levy. This is not a new tax. The EMS levy is necessary to provide comprehensive out of hospital medical services to our community. Please review the attached Fact Sheet for more information.
